Holy Cow! This Japanese Curry Ad Needs a Religion Lesson

A Indian Japanese curry restaurant is facing criticism for a humorous ad campaign that missed the mark.  The ad jokingly apologizes to "God" for serving beef curry, claiming that cows are sacred in Christianity and Islam, alongside Hinduism. This factual error has sparked online debate, with many pointing out the insensitivity and misinformation spread by the campaign.

Translation:

"Following Christianity and Islam, in Hinduism, the world's third largest religion by population, cows are treated as sacred animals, so basically, beef is not eaten. BUT!! HOWEVER!! I made it! A chef who has lived in Japan for a long time, while keeping it a secret that he has learned the taste of yakiniku and hamburgers, has now made an original beef curry for all of you Japanese people!!"

In essence, this is a humorous advertisement for a beef curry made by a Indian chef who knows he's breaking a Hindu cultural taboo by using beef, but is doing it for the enjoyment of Japanese customers.
