Ex-gravure model Chisato Morishita, still a head-turner at 43, is making a second attempt to snag a seat. Will her charm break through the political monotony?

This year, the election season seems less flamboyant compared to the Tokyo gubernatorial race, which saw controversial pornographic posters and a candidate who stripped live.

But amidst the usual campaign drudgery, a ray of sunshine emerged - the volunteers! Specifically, a young woman working for Masafumi Tabuchi, an independent candidate from Okayama.

Her short skirt turned heads, showcasing not just her lovely legs but a glimpse of her buttocks too. This tactic, netizens joked, might be Tabuchi's only shot at getting voters to accept a flyer.

The woman in question turned out to be 26-year-old Harumi Kurokawa, a well-known adult video (AV) star. Now claiming to be a "rental girlfriend" and manager for another AV star, Kurokawa's presence on the campaign team raises eyebrows.

Did Tabuchi know? Kurokawa, seemingly unfazed, posted pictures on social media, a stark contrast to her usual content.

Interestingly, Kurokawa isn't the first AV star to dabble in politics. It appears Japan's political scene might be getting a (slightly risque) makeover, albeit with questionable effectiveness.
